Relationships can be a real struggle when you’re dealing with acne. Being constantly distraught about your skin is rough on you and it can be rough on your partner.
How do you feel about the support they’re giving you? Do you wish that they’d be more understanding? Do you get angry when they aren’t? Or perhaps do you feel that they’re trying to get you to talk about the problem too much, and it’s getting on your nerves?
Before you decide they are insensitive jerks, watch the video and find out if maybe, at the root of the issue, there is just a simple misunderstanding between the sexes.

[..YouTube..] you’re so hysterical!!! i love this 🙂 i mean it’s true. we do communicate differently about problems. but still. this is such a funny video to me 🙂
I was wondering if you could do a video about scaring after acne and how to heal it. In your before and after photos and in your videos you look like you had no scaring…I was wondering if you did? How long it took to clear it up? and how you did that? How I could do it at home… Thanks So Much!

Sure! Someone else just requested the same thing, so I will try and get a video about that out in the next week or so. Thanks!
Hi Tracey!
I just joined your site and am addicted. 🙂 I can really relate to everything you have to say and love your info! I wanted to second the motion for a video on acne scarring and how you avoided or overcame that. You don’t look like you have any scarring whatsoever! (your skin looks amazing by the way!) Also, I have seen your “before” pictures and wondered how you transitioned from that to where you are now makeup-wise. Meaning, I know that wearing makeup and chemicals only makes the problem worse but I don’t feel comfortable not wearing makeup while I’m still broken out so how did you “transition” yourself off of makeup while your acne was still bad while still clearing it up?? Sorry for such a long post! Thank you again for what you do…..you are really helping so many people and it means alot!! xoxo
Hi Bridget! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the site. I will make videos to answer both your questions this week 🙂
Thanks so much!! Can’t wait! By the way, love your headband/hairstyle…always so cute! 😉
i would also like to add to the scarring if you make a video on this topic. i know you recommend being in the sun and i actually think tanning is good(as long as you eat a healthy diet of course) and anytime i use to tan my acne would clear up. my problem is i really want to get a tan, but i have horrible scars that i dont want to get worse, but at the same time i feel like it would help clear up my skin so i’m in a dilemma. did you go out in the sun while your skin was clearing up? i know everyones saying the sun will make it worse but i feel like my scars will lighten on their own even if chose to tan. or maybe i’m just hoping..so I was just wondering what you did. Thanks!
Yes, I think getting a little bit of a tan is fine… I went out in the sun when my acne was clearing. I think maybe too much sun could make it worse, but 15-30 minutes a day is good for it. I have a hunch that maybe scarring and acne get worse when people wear creams and moisturizers and sunscreens and fry that onto their skin in the sun. Get pure sun exposure without that stuff instead.
@Sarah UV light kills p. acnes which is the bacteria that causes acne, that’s why sunlight helps clear it a bit.
I think unless someone has suffered from LONG-TERM PERSISTENT acne (mild, moderate or severe) they can’t truly know what it’s like and how scarring it is emotionally.
Btw Tracy, have you ever used Coconut Oil on your face? I hear it’s great for repairing skin and moisturizing but I also her it breaks a lot of people out and then other people say it clears them up. I think it’s pretty counter-productive to repair skin if you’re making yourself break out, but yeah.
No, I like to use it on my lips as a lip balm, and to cook with. From what I hear, coconut oil is really comedogenic for the pores on your face (although seems to be good to use on your body)… so I am too scared to put it on my face!
I recently read about an oil that’s quite similar in structure to coconut oil but without it’s comedongenic side effect. It’s called babassu oil and due to its fatty acids it helps getting rid of unwanted bacteria on the skin (like coconut oil, which is even use by some people as mild substitute for deodorant) and is quite nurturing. However I haven’t tried it myself, it’s rather hard to get in Europe :/ …
