Hi Everyone!
So I landed in Australia all safe and sound, and now I’m busy getting settling in. I’m also battling some serious jet lag!
Hopefully I’ll get some cool Aussie-backgrounded videos up for you soon, but in the meantime, here is one I recorded before I left home. It’s about a darn good salad that I’ve been eating as a meal…. I love it. It’s delicious and filling – and healthy, of course!

The recipe ingredients:
- Big bowl of salad greens
- A bunch of cherry tomatoes (or one regular medium tomato)
- 1/2 or 1/4 of a red, yellow, or orange bell pepper
- Handful of sprouts (alfalfa or whatever)
- 2 tablespoons of finely chopped purple onion
- Half an avocado
- The kernels of one corn cob (completely optional)
- 2 or 3 big spoonfuls of hummus
- The juice of one lemon wedge
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- a squirt or tablespoon of organic prepared mustard (I forgot this in the salad in the video, but I usually have this in the dressing)
- A few shakes of sea salt
- A few shakes of pepper
- Handful of pumpkin seeds
Throw all of this in a bowl, mix it up, and enjoy!
By the way, most of the ingredients are completely optional, so don’t feel like you need everything on here to make a good salad. You can also add other things – bits of meat are good too if you eat it. Try throwing a bit of chicken on there. Be creative ๐

Get some vegemite in Australia and tell me how it is. I hear it’s horrid.
haha vegimite isnt THAT bad…well if u ate it as a kid you would find it pretty yum on some toast or crackers…its pretty salty though, if you havnt had it before you may find it funky..ANYWAYS just wanted to say i like saucy salads too! I invented a dressing that i put on raw shredded bokchoi and other greens…its this
1/2 and avocado, 1/2 a frozen mango, squeeze of lemon juice…just blend it together till its creamy..i think it makes all greens taste DELISH ๐ also i’m so gonna chuck hummus on my salad now..i’m gettin sick of just plain tahini XD
Yep, the hummus is a yummy addition, for sure….. I’m going to try your dressing! It sounds good, and I happen to have a mango downstairs…

Hey Tracy!! I hope your well ๐ I was telling my mum about kale chips earlier and thought of this website straight away! Haha. I’ve spent my summer holidays binging like mad and now I’ve decided as term time approaches I’m going to return to the holistic living again. One problem. I start uni on Monday and I’ve only now started the detox!!! Boom, my face has broken out badly like last time. Is there anything I can do to hurry the damn thing up LOL! I hope you and your boyfriend are ok! – Steve
– I should have added that my acne basically went away because I’d stopped looking in the mirror (proving that my acne was caused by my perception of myself.) Deep down I knew that I had to change my eating some point, so I decided now was the best time.. althoug of course the detox breaks me out! bad times ๐
Hi Steve… that’s really excellent that you found out for sure that your acne was connected to your self esteem. Hopefully that can free you! I also commend you on making the step to eat healthier as well… as far as stopping a detox breakout, the only way I know to do that is to slow down the changes so your body can effectively process the extra toxins being released without it all coming out on your skin. I’d also recommend taking some kind of liver detox supplement that contains milk thistle (usually combined with other herbs), to help your liver with all the extra stuff going on.

tracy can you give us an example of what you eat throughout the day?? i am worried about the caloric intake.i do consume fats e.t.c but i stil lose weight….any breakfast ideas? unfortunately i am allergic to eggs and i dont want to eat grains so i end up drinking only a green smoothie which is great but i still feel hungry….
