Good arvo! (that’s what they call the afternoon in Australia… the arvo)
Today I am going to show you a special tea that I’ve been really into making lately. It’s a warming tea because of the ginger so for those of you who are battling a cold winter and the after christmas blues right now, you will really enjoy this!
Watch the video for my special recipe:

Are you a tea drinker? Do you have a favourite kind?

This is so good! I got started drinking it from Kimberly Snyder, and she throws in a dash of cayenne pepper, which gives it all a little kick and is a great way to rev up the day.
Oooh good idea!
I drink this tea everyday! It’s amazing! I buy ready-made teabags but there are only 2 ingredients : Lemon and ginger so it’s really good.
I also drink mint tea which is surprisingly sweet in taste, it is very refreshing though.
Tea is wonderful, I don’t know what I’d do without it, but now I think that after watching your video, I will start making my own using fresh ingredients. Mint should be just as straight-forward too.
thanks for the inspiration Tracy.
I’ve done it with fresh mint before too, and that totally reminds me of another AWESOME tea recipe – Moroccan Mint… yuuuummmm
So you get your mint… it’s better if you can crush or grind the leaves a bit somehow to get the minty flavour to really come out…. so like… mortar and pestle stuff. Combine it with green tea and honey in your tea pot and voila…. soooo good.
Great post! I looooooove tea! I am drinking some dandelion now. I have terrible cramps as we speak and it seems to be helping!!
Nice video! I love tea sooo much! Can’t imagine a day without it! Can you believe that some people only drink tea when they have a cold? They don’t seem to know what they’re missing …
Nice!! 🙂 I love ginger and lemon mix! However I think that putting raw honey and then hot water is not a good idea.
Well, it is not raw & unpasteurised anymore I guess.
What’s even worse, according to Ayurveda honey when heated above 40˚ C becomes toxic to the body and in turn unbalances the three doshas.
When I plan to add honey, forst I wait when the tea becomes not so hot.
I´ve heard the same about honey as agnei. It has something to do with the enzymes that get destroyed by too hot water. One should wait until the tea has a drinking temperature and then put the honey in.
Hmm…. you guys are right, that totally slipped my mind! I didn’t realize it actually got toxic though when heated
The same is with lemon – always at lemon to not so hot tea. When it is hot you are destroying the vitamin C.
I’m glad you mention this, I was always reluctant about putting raw honey into my tea. I’ve been a little confused about this topic since most people believe putting honey in your tea is very healthy and I would almost get into an argument about this with my boyfriend. I heard that manuka honey can take more heat without getting destroyed. It just becomes a way more expensive tea then 🙂
Hi Tracy!
I was wondering how much time you wait between meals to drink water/tea. Currently, I drink little to no water with meals and wait 2 hours before and after meals to drink water. Is that too extreme? What do you recommend?
I don’t know, I used to be more strict about not drinking with meals… usually I just try to avoid drinking lots of water with a meal and around a meal, but I no longer really pay attention to how many hours have gone by before and after. Also… I don’t think it’s as imperative to not drink two hours before.. you can drink up to 15 minutes before, since your stomach will empty the water quickly.
hey this looks awesome thanks for posting it…another food you might want to look into is called Ajvar its a yugoslavian roasted red pepper dip for meats. It is what i will be using on the candida diet and they sell it in jars in european markets here in new york city maybe aus. too. You can try googling a recipe its good with sausage. btw ive been on this candida diet for like 12 days now with less inflammation but still break outs. This is puzzling i am scared it just might not work for me. how long did it take you to see results>?
Thanks bunny, I will look into that dip… it sounds really yummy.
If you have less inflammation, stick with it! It’s working! 12 days isn’t that long… the two candida cleanses I did, I did them for three weeks… I don’t remember the exact time frame that it cleared up, but it did by the end… but everyone’s different. Don’t get discouraged! You’re seeing results!
and my favorite tea did used to be earl gray with some vanilla soy milk..
