My husband has severe Crohn’s disease, (under control now thanks to diet and Remicade, Thank God!) – but the only oil he will eat is Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. When he was at his worst it was the only thing that didn’t make him flare. So, I’ve learned also to never, ever cook in vegetable oils! Thanks to him. I did notice a reduction in my inflammation when we moved in together and I started eating everything cooked in the Coconut oil, where all my life at home my Mom cooked in Canola oil… It really, really does make a difference in how you feel. I notice more effects in how I feel internally though rather than in my skin.
Great video!! I think this will really help a lot of people get their diets on a better track!
Yeah Crohn’s disease can be nasty. I also have a friend with severe Crohn’s. She was in the hospital last year with a bad attack of it and they told her she’d be on drugs for the rest of her life, but she’s completely reversed the symptoms through a natural diet and is now off all pharmaceuticals. Powerful stuff!
I recently watched a video on whfoods.org which stresses on the same point. Its much healthier to cook in extra virgin coconut oil than any other oil. Thumbs up for the information!
I’m 37 and still fight acne. I’ve decided to try it after unsuccessfully using creme ancienne, and every acne cream on the market, with prices from $10 to $300 per piece. My skin is sensitive, breaks out weekly, and used to have acne marks, scars, brown and reddish. Quite nasty. After using Shielo’s Complexion Scrub, my skin healed, looks pink and healthy, my breakouts are minimal – it even prevents them. No scars, marks, no irritated skin.
The Shielo Complexion Moisturizer is phenomenal as well! But the scrub is excellent for my acne.
I am 61 years old and fighting adult acne. I have been using coconut oil for several months in my cooking and drinking it every morning. I have not used on skin. My acne problems comes and goes, however I think it has really flared up due to the oil. I may be the only one on the planet, so I am going to lay off it for awhile and see what happens. I
Dear Beth,
Yes, in your case I think it might be best not to eat any coconut oil/milk/flour for a while and see what happens. Not everything has to be equally good for everyone. Any human can become allergic to anything, at any time, not just the most common allergies. Don‘t mind if it feels like you‘re the only one. In my opinion, if ingesting coconut oil irritates your acne even more, it may irritate other body components as well. You don‘t have to ingest anything that gives you a reaction for some reason only because most people on this planet say it‘s healthy. It‘s preferable to listen to your body.
