The end part was exactly what I needed.
Thank you.
No probs! We could all use to remember that part more often 🙂
Dear Tracy,
I accidentally found your videos on youtube while searching for acne solutions.
I relate to everything you felt and said about the way people feel when they have mild/severe acne.
I just want to say that you are such an inspiration.
I try to live an holistic lifestyle as much as possible, although i find it difficult to mantain when hard or stressful events come.
I will watch every single one of your videos and try to incorporate your advices into daily life. Hope to have good results.
Thank you for inspiring me, again.
Greetings from Portugal
Hi Ana! Welcome to the blog! Everyone finds it hard to live holistically sometimes… but everything is a learning experience.. I hope you find some good information here to help with your journey to better skin and happiness 🙂
Loved this video! I find large doses of omega 3s work really well to clear up my little forehead bumps.
Random question: if you ever decide you don’t want dreadlocks anymore, do you HAVE to cut them off?
Haha yeah, you do need to cut them off. Well… some people will go to the effort of attempting to comb them out, but it sounds utterly painful and time consuming, and your hair will be pretty frizzy and damaged after. Although it`s often said you need to shave your head, that isn`t true…. you just need to cut your dreads short and you can comb them out a lot easier than if they were very long…. you can still salvage some hair on your head.
Either way, I`m not looking forward to when that day comes, so I plan to keep my dreads for a long time! 🙂
how did you start them? and why did you decide to do it? I think it would be cool to do but I’m pretty sure my mother would disown me or something 😛
There are different ways of starting them, but I backcombed. Meaning, my friend made square sections on my head, and then each section got combed back towards my head to make knots (it wasn’t a very pleasant experience haha). Then over time, the knots naturally tighten up…. but in their journey to maturity, they go through some really weird and not always very attractive phases… they tighten and smooth out fully somewhere between 6 months to a year. So, it’s definitely a long term commitment! However, if you wanted to comb them out in the first year when they aren’t fully tightened, you probably could a lot easier than say… three years on, as mine are now.
The reason I got them was just because my hair was so flat and blah before and I needed a change. I saw a waitress at a cool breakfast restaurant who had sweet dreads, the seed got planted in my head, and that was that. The secret reason I love them so much though, is because I think I don’t look as young with them as I did without them. And since I have a “thing” about looking young, this pleases me 🙂
Hey Tracy!
Really need some advice. Have been leaving my skin alone (caveman) for quite some time now. I used the jojoba oil and my clogged pores got worse! And now I’m off of it and and dealing with so so many clogged pores, white heads and blackheads for a while. Will continuing to leave the skin alone really rid me of these millions of things in my face? Do the clogged pores just fade on their own?
Thanks,
Sanny
Hey! Just wanted to say that I was using your lemon/honey/cinammon face mask just today and afterwards I washed it off with warm/hot water. The clogged pores on my nose were open, so I just took a face towel and scrubbed (not even that hard) and now they’re gone! It looked really weird right afterwards because it was just a open pore without anything in it. Skin feels a lot smoother too!
oh and WOW i just felt the skin on my nose and it’s so smooth now! Before it was all filled with bumps! YAY! 😀
Wow!! awesome Jeffrey! It really does make your skin feel super smooth…. very cool to hear it worked so well for you 😀
Hi Tracy!
I realize this is an old post but I just read it now and am really looking for some advice. Not only do I have many clogged pores (and mine are quite visible), but my skin is constantly flaky. I’ve used a daily microfoliant for quite some time and while it helped a bit, I still always suffered from flakiness. It just doesn’t seem to go away, no matter how much or how little I exfoliate. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks for reading! 🙂
Hi Crystal, what do you use to moisturize? And is your forehead really dry and flakey, or is it oily, and flakey? Also it sounds like you could have seborrheic dermatitis? Anyway, I’m no expert on that.
Thanks a lot for responding. My skin is oily yet very flakey, and quite rough to the touch, with lots of bumps?. My forehead has very little flakes. My cheeks, nose and chin are the most affected, chin especially. I moisturize with a dermalogica moisturizer. If I don’t, my skin feels very tight and uncomfortable. Anyway, if you aren’t able to offer me with advice, that’s totally fine. I’ll keep searching… thanks again.
Hi, not sure whether youll see this but would be Amazing if you found the time to reply 🙂 I’ve noticed in the last couple months around twenty or so flesh coloured whiteheads around my temples and running down both sides of my cheeks which frustrate me no end. I had a similar issue last year and they went away suddenly, but I can’t figure out what could be causing them. I sleep on my side so was wondering if that could be it. I went through a period a few months in which i never wore makeup and they were still there so don’t think that’s causing the problem. I just feel so frustrated and was wondering whether you would have any ideas. Could it be an allergy or something? Thank you so much for simply reading this!
